Athletics

Assumption High School offers a wide variety of athletic experiences in 11 boys sports and 10 girls sports as well as competitive and spirit cheerleader and dance. Assumption has won 33 state team championships including 29 in the past 20 years. This amazing amount of success does not include the numerous state titles earned by our cheer and dance teams. The Knights have won the Des Moines Register’s top sports program four times and over two hundred members whose picture line our impressive “Wall of Fame”.

Success doesn’t happen by accident. It takes the continuing hard work of administrators, teachers, coaches, parents and supporters. Our athletic programs are supported by two very important groups.

The Assumption Booster Club

Our booster club provides funding for all of our athletic uniforms and also provides financial support for our state tournament teams. The booster club has several fundraisers each year to help provide these funds. The boosters also sponsor all athletic awards nights and are in charge of all athletic concessions. There is a small membership fee but all parents and supporters of Assumption Athletics are encouraged to join the Booster Club.

The Century Club

The Century Club is another vital part of our athletic success. This group raises funds by accepting a minimum donation of $100 from all its members and provides funding for “big ticket” items that are beyond the scope of our normal athletic budget. The Century Club exists to help all athletic programs with projects and major purchases and also provides additional funding for state tournament teams.
