Graduation Requirements
English (4 years/8 semesters), Mathematics (3 years/6 semesters), Science (3 years/6 semesters), Social Studies (3 years/6 semesters) Religion (4 years/8 semesters), Fine Arts (1 year/2 semesters), Computer Science (1 semester), Physical Education (4 years/8 semesters), and Health (1 semester)
Honors Courses
Assumption offers honors class in the following subject areas: freshman, sophomore, and junior English, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, Trigonometry, Biology, Chemistry, Spanish IV, and French IV.
AP Courses
AP courses offer our students the opportunity to earn college credit while in high school. At the end of each school year, students who participate in AP courses have the option of taking AP exams, and they may receive college credit based on the score they receive on the exam, as well as the policy of the college or university they will be attending.
AP credit can be recieved in Calculus, senior English/Literature and Composition, Biology, U.S. History, Government and Politics.
AP Online Courses
Online AP credit can be received in Physics and Chemistry.
College Course Offerings
In partnership with Eastern Iowa Community College, Assumption offers college courses on our campus at no additional cost beyond book fees. Junior and senior students may enroll and receive college credit for successful completion of the following courses: English Composition I, English Composition II, Principles of Speech, College Algebra, and College Statistics.
