Assumption High School enrolls approximately 400 students in grades 9 through 12. Students come from the Quad Cities and the surrounding area. AHS students represent diverse backgrounds; many of those students are continuing long-standing family traditions by attending AHS.  Assumption belongs to and is accredited by the following organizations:

QUICK TIPS FOR PARENTS

8 Easy Steps for entering Knighthood:

  1. CONTACT the Admissions Office at 563-326-5313 ext. 230 or at faulbahere@mail.assumption.pvt.k12.ia.us

  2. Arrange for an individual SHADOW DAY for your child.

  3. TOUR THE CAMPUS and facilities as well as find out more about our programs.

  4. ATTEND OUR INFORMATION KNIGHT in the fall.  

  5. LOOK FOR REGISTRATION INFORMATION in the mail by late December/early January.

  6. ATTEND REGISTRATION with your child for enrollment and course selection.

  7. WATCH FOR LETTER confirming your registration in early February.

  8. ANTICIPATE A SUMMER MAILING in July confirming dates for the start of school including orientation and first day of classes.

SHADOWING PROGRAM

Students interested in spending a “Day as a Knight” are invited to do so. They may request a current AHS student to be paired with or a host with similar interests will be assigned. Shadow days can be scheduled by calling the Admissions Office 563-326-5313 ext. 230.

OPEN HOUSE

During the fall semester Assumption High School hosts an annual “Information Knight.”  This year, it is Monday, October22nd. At this event, you will find AHS faculty and staff on hand to talk about various aspects of the school and its academic excellence. Coaches, advisors, club representatives, and student athletes are present to speak with and answer questions about their programs.  Student Ambassadors are also available to lead interactive tours throughout the campus.  You will immediately see the wide range of opportunities AHS has to offer through this remarkable event.

REGISTRATION

There are 4 scheduled registration dates at each of our 4 Catholic grade schools as well as a make-up registration date at AHS.  If you are unable to attend any of the scheduled registrations, please contact our Office of Admissions to schedule an appointment at your convenience. 

Each student and their parent(s)/guardian(s) will sit down with a counselor to select the student’s courses and discuss academic matters.  There is a $30 registration fee and 4-page application that needs to be handed in upon completion.  You may download the application forms below.

ORIENTATION

Prior to the start of school, all freshmen will attend a Freshmen Orientation.  This day is full of school spirit and is scheduled for Wednesday, August 22, 2007; the day before classes begin.  The Orientation is specifically for all incoming freshmen and transfer students.  The orientation will run from 7:40a.m. and last until 2:40p.m.  Lunch will be served, and students will review their schedules, the student handbook, and other material necessary for the start of school.

Parents are welcome to attend the morning portion of the Orientation, as there will be a short program in the morning and coffee/pastries with the Principal.
