Mrs. Tammy Quested is in her 6th year at Assumption High School .  She is an advisor for Students Against Destructive Decisions (S.A.D.D.). She and her husband, Steve, have a daughter attending Assumption and two boys at St. Paul the Apostle.

Mrs. Julie Fulton is in her 3rd year as school counselor at AHS. She is a nationally certified counselor, entering her 8th year of counseling. She is also as advisor for National Honor Society and Students Against Distructive Decisions (S.A.D.D.). She and her husband, Keith, have two sons; Seth is a graduate of Luther College and Derek is a freshmand at Assumption.

A 1996 Golden Apple Award winner, Mrs. Draude came to AHS in 1998, and currently serves as Academic Advisor. In addition to being a licensed administrator and English teacher, she has an endorsement in gifted education. Carmine is a eucharistic minister at OLV and volunteers for their newsletter. She and her husband, Fran, are parents to an AHS graduate, Adrianne '98.

Financial Aid/Scholarships

Are you heading off to college?  Come to the free Financial Aid Presentation!    Assumption High School ’s guidance office has invited a representative from the Iowa Student Loan College Access Network to provide a free financial aid presentation at 6:00 p.m. in the Library, on January 24, 2008.  The presentation is geared to high school seniors and their parents.  High school juniors and their parents are also welcome to attend.  Topics will include:  Completing the FAFSA, Electronic processing, Deadlines, Overview of the financial aid process, Types of financial assistance available, Scholarships and scams, Helpful tips, Where to go for help.

Wednesday, October 17, 2007 is the Assumption High School test date for the PSAT.  Juniors are eligible to compete for the scholarships while sophomores are welcome to take the test as a preliminary run prior to junior year.  Please register by September 21st in Student Services.  Payment of $13 will be collected at the time of registration.  Fee waivers may be available, see Mrs. Fulton or Mrs. Draude for information.

ITED Testing

Assumption High School will participate in ITED Testing on Monday, October 23rd and Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007.  For more information about the tests, please refer to the website:    http://www.education.uiowa.edu/itp/ited/index.htm.

ASVAB

This program is designed to help students learn more about themselves and the world of work; identify and explore potentially satisfying occupations, and develop an effective strategy to realize their goals.  This test is offered every year if there is enough interest and is offered through the United States Military Branches.  Students may choose whether they want to discuss military and/or civilian careers.  Please refer to the website for more information:  http://www.asvabprogram.com/.
