Eric Jobgen is in his 1st year at Assumption after 34 years in the Davenport Community Schools.  He and his wife, Karen,  an employee of Genesis Hospital, have two children, Benjamin '95 and Molly '98. Benjamin works as a Physical Therapist and his wife, Melissa, is a Nurse Instructor at St. Ambrose.  Molly works for the Mica Group  in finance and lives in Kentucky with her husband, Scott, who is a Chiropractor.

Gary Laake (AHS ‘68) is beginning his 37th year at AHS. He and his wife, Diane (AHS ‘69), enjoy family time with Angela; Andy and his wife, Michelle, granddaughter, Ashley, and grandson, Kyle; and Alyssa and her husband, Layne, and grandson, Dylan. When Gary isn’t busy coaching golf at AHS, he enjoys playing golf and taking motorcycle trips.

Joe Barrer, a 1999 graduate of Assumption, is in his 2nd year at AHS. After graduating from St. Ambrose University with a degree in Physical Education, Joe went on to earn his Master’s in Exercise, Fitness, and Health Promotion from George Mason University. In addition to his teaching duties, Joe will also serve as Assumption’s Head Boy’s Basketball coach. Joe is a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish.

The physical education department offers Physical Education I, Physical Education II, Physical Education III, Physical Education IV, Health, and Health Applications. Four years of PE are required to graduate from AHS, as is Health. PE counts for half of a credit; students attend PE  and Religion classes on alternating days.
