The science department offers Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, Genetics, Issues in Biology, Physical Science, Chemistry, Honors Chemistry, Physics, Earth Science, and Environmental  Science, as well as Advanced Placement Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Labs are used as teaching resources in all science classes. Three years of science are required for graduation.


Mrs. Lori Forret began teaching at AHS in 1996. She and her husband Chris, are engaged in farming, and have two children, Brian and Megan. Lori has a Master’s in Teaching and Learning with Technology.

Mrs. Wendy Martin is in her 10th year at AHS. She and her husband, Rob, have three children: Calvin, Erika, and Nathaniel. Wendy is advisor for the Science Club and the Red Cross Club. She has earned her Master’s degree in Teaching and Learning with Technology.

Mrs. Rona Wallace is beginning her 12th year as the Chemistry teacher at AHS, and is the Science Department Chairperson. She and her husband, Greg, have two children: Cayton and Trenton. Rona has a Master’s degree in Teaching and Learning with Technology.

Mrs. Bridget Murphy, a ‘97 AHS graduate, is in her 8th year teaching at AHS. She is an advisor of the yearbook and newspaper. Her free time is spent coaching softball at St. Ambrose University and enjoying time with her husband Kevin and children Madeline, Brian, Michael, and John.
